Launching an events company in 2020, exactly five minutes before a global pandemic locked us all indoors, can only mean one of two things: either you are completely reckless, or you know exactly what you are doing. Guess which side of the scale Dídac Fernández, Fotoboo’s founder, is on.
Back then, Dídac made a living dodging tipsy guests while flying drones for wedding videos. It was there, between the umpteenth “Paquito el Chocolatero” and tonnes of confetti, that he witnessed the industry’s great tragedy: an alarming lack of professionalism.
Entertainment companies turning up late, cables all over the floor, pixelated logos in Comic Sans and an indifference that would make anyone shudder. Dídac spotted the gap, had a revelation and made a radical decision: hang up the drones, say “I do” to the corporate sector and ban weddings, christenings and communions from Fotoboo’s DNA.
Whatever year we had been born in, we were going to be the only photo booth company obsessed exclusively with corporate clients. We swapped in-law drama for the demands of multinational briefings, bringing enterprise-grade technology and punctuality so British it is frightening.
